How has having Wiz Khalifa and the whole Taylor Gang influenced you as an artist?

Chevy Woods: It’s actually everything to me. Some people go to school for certain things but for us just seeing each other working and seeing Wiz working that was like school on the run.

What’s one major piece of advice you’ve gotten from Wiz that you’re putting to use right now in this stage of your career?

Chevy Woods:It’s the work ethic because if he is working everyday how would it look to us who is still trying to come up in this industry to just be slacking. That work ethic is instilled in everybody and it starts with him.

What is different about Gangland 3 compared to the past two?

Chevy Woods: I think the way I recorded this was I recorded it as an album. I heard Jay Z say this in interviews, he always tries to put more singles on the project than just filler songs. So now it’s the best songs instead of just putting songs that were cool to just throw on there.

What can you tell us about this EP?

Chevy Woods: It’s my life and half of an album. It’ll be like a two-part story, you’re still going to get some of the songs that’s on the EP on the album. You’ll be able to piece it together and take a walk with me in my shoes.

When do you anticipate the EP and album dropping?

Chevy Woods: The EP is going to be [released] very soon. We were going to do the EP before the mixtape but I decided that the setup wasn’t correct for me to do it that way being that I hadn’t put no music out in a year and some change. So I just gave them something free first then I’ll drop the EP then the album later this fall.
