Lupe Looove (@LupeLooove):

It’s safe to say that Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is the queen of the music charts to say the least. Fans have loved Beyoncé since the early 2000’s and have grown with her every step of the way.

Just last year, the singer teased her album/documentary, Lemonade with the thunderclap of the “Formation” video and its politically charged Super Bowl performance that same week. Then when she dropped Lemonade, it came with an HBO takeover that expanded the music into an Emmy-nominated visual journey that brought together Serena Williams’ dance moves and the searing writing of Somali-British poet Warsan Shire. And not to mention, Lemonade is by far the most vulnerable art Beyoncé has ever made.

This year’s nomination marks Beyoncé’s third “Album of the Year” nomination, and she leads the ceremony with nine nominations overall. That not only puts Adele’s Grammy career to shame but Bey is actually the most nominated woman in Grammy history, with 62 total – as Billboard points out.

Beyoncé has also embraced the creative and structural possibilities of the digital era. Before Lemonade was available for purchase, it was only seen a visual album on HBO, which then lead to being streamed on Tidal before making its way to iTunes.

Needless to say, I hope Beyoncé takes the lead during the 2017 Grammy night and if she doesn’t, I’m sure Bey’s fans will make their voices loud and clear.

Lets cross those fingers BeyHives!
