Born in Atlanta, Dae Dae discovered his passion for rapping early on in life and never looked back. The young MC isn’t like the new wave of Southern rappers that are finding success at the moment. There is no weird Auto-Tune effects or exaggerated drums in his music; it’s just straight bars.

“You can ride to my songs and bump them in the club, but you can feel the lyrics and relate to them at the same time,” he declares. “You’re going to bounce, but I’m going to get your attention. It’s about putting out a real story.”

Growing up in the “rough” Boulevard Fourth Ward where “every day wasn’t promised,” music quickly became an escape from the violence, corruption, and addiction in the streets around him. At eight-years-old, Dae Dae’s pops bought him his first ever Bow Wow and Lil Romeo CD, which inspired him to pick up the mic.

With his recent mixtape, 4 Reasons, getting some major buzz, we had the opportunity to talk to Dae Dae about growing up in Atlanta, getting to work with 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne on his “Spend It” remix, and his dream of becoming the best rapper of all-time. – Lupe Looove
