UPDATE: Late last year, Rita Ora filed a lawsuit against former boss and label Jay Z and Roc Nation in order to get out of her contract. We haven’t heard much about it since, until today.

According to reports from Mirror, it appears that Rita and Hov/Roc Nation have settled their disputes out of court. The singer also took to Snapchat over the weekend revealing that a potential new contract was in the works.

Original Story (December 17, 2015):

As Jay Z continues to make moves expanding his empire, there’s one artist who isn’t too thrilled about it, British singer Rita Ora.

On Thursday (December 17th), the 25-year-old filed a complaint against Jay Z’s Roc Nation label claiming that the company has not been taking care of her since it expanded into sports management and other interests.

According to sources, the “Body On Me” singer originally signed with Roc Nation back in 2008, when she was 18 years old. Now that it’s been seven years since, she can potentially invoke California’s “seven year rule,” since she now resides in California.

Rita also claims that she has been “hamstrung” after the label switched partners from Sony to Universal in 2013.

That’s dumb, unloyal and UN-American. Oh that’s right, she’s British. Nevermind
