6. Jill Scott – Woman

Jilly from Philly blessed us with her first album since 2011 and it was well worth the wait. Titled Woman, Scott’s fifth studio album served as an ode to the ladies everywhere when it comes to love, relationships, family, and more. Scott uses her vocals to tell a soulful story throughout the entire project.

7. Wale – The Album About Nothing

Many people don’t realize the masterpiece of The Album About Nothing by the DMV’s very own Wale. His poetic style is always refreshing for fans to hear. Not to mention the creative way he related his hip-hop background to the comedic styling of Jerry Seinfeld, which helped develop a friendship between the two.

8. Raheem Devaughn- Love, Sex,Passion

Raheem Devaughn’s fifth studio album hit stores earlier this year giving us a different Raheem than his solo debut album, The Love Experience. Devaughn is very vocal on this album about his desires and wants in terms of relationships. The album is certainly one that will leave a lasting impression for years to come.

the rapper didn't sell too well.

9. Jay Rock – 90059

In a way 2015 may have been unfair for Jay Rock’s release. Just about anybody who is somebody in hip-hop dropped their album, including Jay’s TDE partner in crime Kendrick Lamar. But the West Coast representative released what could be considered his best project to date. Led by the heralded “Money Trees Deuce,” 90059 delivered plenty of tracks, like “Wanna Ride” and “Necessary,” to give the album legs to run straight through.

10. Tyrese – Black Rose

Even though fans have seen more of Tyrese in the Fast and Furious series, his acting ventures haven’t taken away from his singing at all. It’s very apparent in Ty’s Black Rose album where his soft, sensual, yet passionate vocals easily makes any woman swoon. If you’re ever looking for some date night music, just pop in that Black Rose and let Tyrese set the mood.

1st thank u for Talking on Wale TAAN! The way he tied in the discussions lyrically and from multiple perspectives with a Perfect Sonic compliment. No skip tracks and Genius songs like Helium Balloon, Girls on Drugs, White Shoes,H Town Anthem,Matrimony. 2nd King Los had some powerful songs you described well mixed with some fun tracks still filled with content and wordplay.3rd Lupe should be awarded for his album. It’s Timeless. 4th Joey definitely brought boom bap back to mainstream 5th. That Raekwon album is dope. I feel ppl dismiss it because some of the features and the sonic marriage of old and new. He executed very well and lyrically sounds better then ever. Guess not Obfcl 1 or 2 but appreciate difference. Joel Ortiz Human and Czarface should be more recognised. Puff did do his thing on Money Makin Mitch too. That is probably the most criminally slept on along with Czarface , CNN Lessons, and Redman Mudface
