Civil Interview: K Camp Talks “Comfortable,” Diversifying His Music, Rap Beefs And More
by Staff Editor

Since “Cut Her Off” was so big on Vine, Youtube, and other music visuals, what are your thoughts on hip-hop’s relationship with social media?
It’s a gift and a curse. With social media, I feel like nowadays, mother*ckers don’t care about the music like they used to. They just want to see some monkey sh*t online, and tune into the bullsh*t. At the same time, it helps artists if something pops online. It’s a 50/50 balance. I love it and hate it at the same time.
Was making the XXL Freshmen cover important to you?
I feel like the cover is a stepping-stone. It give you that look you might want or need as an artist. I could’ve done fine without it too, but it gave me that extra buzz, and I appreciate them. They gave me the opportunity to be on there.
Who or what are you bumping in your headphones on the daily right now?
I bump with that Future [Dirty Sprite 2]. He from the hometown. I’m bumping that Meek album. I’m bumping really anybody I can get my hands on. If I f*ck with it, I f*ck with it. I really don’t have any certain go-to.
If you could serenade “Comfortable” to a celebrity crush, who would you want it to be?
I’d sing to RiRi. I’d take Sanaa Lathan. When I saw her at the BET Awards, she was looking good as hell! There’s so many, man. Just all of the bad b*tches, man.
