Congratulations on the success of “Comfortable!” What’s been the inspiration behind the track?

It’s really just a different feel for K Camp, and folks know me for the party and the turn up sh*t. I get people ratchet, but I wanted to do something different and show the versatility of my music. So when it dropped, it just swept the whole nation.

It’s pretty interesting how you went from the most break-up, delete-the-negativity track, to probably the most cuff-able song of the summer. What was that transition like?

Music is all about emotions and feelings. Just because I was cutting a b*tch off 2 years ago, doesn’t mean two years later I won’t find the girl I can get comfortable with. It’s all about emotions, and that’s how I do my music.

What can we expect from your debut album? How will it differ from your other projects?

I put a lot of work into this sh*t, man. As far as the content, what I’m talking about, and what I stand for, I’m really bringing the world into K Camp’s world. My other stuff, it’s more of the party and turn up content, but [the album] I’m really telling a story I want the world to know who the f*ck I am. I’ve been letting them sleep for too long.

Who are some of the features we can expect?

As far as the features, I can’t really give them away, but I do have T.I. on there. I got a couple more legends on my album that are dope.

What are your thoughts on the beefs brewing in rap today, such as Meek and Drake, and how people thought CyHi was coming at Kanye?

It’s hip hop. Sh*t, that’s what we need! It was getting boring for awhile. N*ggas need beef and to talk some sh*t. Things were getting kind of “ehh.” It’s some excitement! I loved it all. I was tuned in like a Power episode. I got my popcorn and all that sh*t!
