G-Unit - "Nah I'm Talkin' Bout"

Did you always have the feeling that you guys would eventually reunite, or had you given up on it at one point?

Young Buck: Since the beginning, I’ve been vocal about how I felt about the situation when I was away from the Unit. To be honest with you, I knew there was always a possibility because of one thing: 50 never gave a direct answer when he was asked about how he felt about me coming back. With him not answering directly, was the answer, you feel me? I guess during the time, I didn’t give up on it, but I started to push my own thing and do it without the team.

You dropped a mixtape titled Before The Beast a couple weeks ago in anticipation for The Beast Is G-Unit EP dropping tomorrow. What inspired you to do that?

Young Buck: A lot of it had to do with the wait between the EP and then. I felt like the fans deserved it and waited long enough for G-Unit music period, and I’m just as anxious as the fans are to get it to them as they are to listen. I just got so much music, I’m sitting here with like at least 30 or 40 smash hits. I’m probably loaded with like 2, 300 songs. My work ethic is really crazy. I’m so loaded with the music, that I have no choice at this point but to give the fans the music. You gotta give to get, and that was part of the mindset to with Before The Beast, to show them that I appreciate them too.

How would you say The Beast Is G-Unit is different from The Beauty Of Independence?

Young Buck: It’s more aggressive. Both EPs were recorded together within one week after the reunion. So the first week after we got together is what you’re hearing in The Beauty Of Independence and The Beast Is G-Unit. We wanted to hurry up and get the fans some music so we released a few records right after the reunion, but these two EPs are just the first week of us recording together [following the reunion]. At first it was gonna be a mixtape, but then 50 said ‘nah let’s do it this way,’ being the marketing genius that he is, so yeah that’s how we did it.
