Shawn: “We already got Spring 2015 poppin’.” Ok Drake, we got it, the Spring is yours  and fair to assume that the Summer is too, but let’s be honest the strangle hold that you held over 2014 was essentially erased in a month by J.Cole and 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Aside from the legends, hip-hop is ran by a three-headed monster that, in which Drake and J.Cole are joined by Kendrick Lamar. With warning shots like “i” and appearances all over television, Kendrick is coming with the heat in 2015 to attempt to claim Top Dawg, pun intended, for the year. With such power luring, Drake has to attack the game now. Anticipation for new music from Mr. Lamar is high and to remind the game who reigns supreme before a TDE takeover, Drake needs to strike first and hard like a only a Drizzy release can. While something new from Kendrick is lusted over in hip-hop, the love and reaction, not to mention sales, that Views From the 6ix will bring will continue to show that Drake is still the point of the hip-hop titan pyramid.
