Bobby Shmurda

It’s looking pretty scary for Bobby Shmurda and the GS9 crew, after they were arrested at Quad Studios yesterday morning for being found with 21 guns on them.

According to the NYPD, the “Hot N***a” rapper, along with the other 12 individuals that were arrested and taken into custody, had been targeted in an ongoing investigation involving drug trafficking and “a number of violent incidents” in Canarsie and Flatbush, Brooklyn. Now, more details are emerging as Bobby Shmurda is appearing in court with the crew, as XXL reports that the is DA seeking $2 million bail. According to reports, his attorney has revealed that Epic Records, Shmurda’s label, is planning to post the bail, and they may be looking into violent charges expungement in this instance if possible.

Sources told XXL that two of the 21 guns obtained in the arrest belonged to Bobby, with three being found in stairway of Quad Studios. The site also reports that a member of their camp believes Bobby and the crew are possibly looking at years in jail. Dean Meminger posted a tweet, revealing that NYC prosecutors say that Rowdy Rebel was allegedly involved in a shooting before performing at the Barclays Center in the same clothes from the incident.

The NYPD has reportedly responded to the arrest, saying of Shmurda and the crew:

“These are bad people and they shouldn’t be celebrated.”

Shmurda’s attorney, however, said of the case:

“It’s a bunch of bulls-t. The government hates rap and by extension hates rappers. If his name was Joe Blow, they’d have given him a desk-appearance ticket or cut him loose from the precinct.”
