What are some early lessons you’ve learned thus far in your career?

Just Ivy: I’ve learned that sometimes when you plan things ahead things can change in one second so you have to learn how to deal with that stress and not let it influence you. Leave personal feelings aside and be about with your work, learn how to have different types of relationships with people.

Can you describe a moment where you were completely blindsided and how you dealt with it?

Just Ivy: Well, during the “Light Me Up” video it was planned to shoot in Miami but last second due to a bunch of scheduling conflicts it was pushed back two weeks. When you’re there and you’re ready and then it was ‘no, we’ll do it in two weeks.’

Wow, but it still looked like you had a lot of fun shooting the video. What was one of your favorite scenes?

Just Ivy: When I was on the boat. My friend was in it with me, it was more natural. We were laughing and acting all at the same time.

What was it like having DJ Khaled on set with you?

Just Ivy: Amazing. Khaled is a genius. It’s always great to have him around you.

I can tell. On your Twitter, you offer up a lot of messages to inspire why do you choose to use that platform in that sense?

Just Ivy: I’m so new to that especially Twitter. I feel like before I start tweeting about personal stuff, I’m just tweeting things that I feel.
