Common & Kanye West

A personal favorite memory from Chappelle’s Show was seeing Common and Kanye West perform “The Food” off of Be, one of Common’s most successful albums. The performance got so live that Kanye even had to take off his blazer revealing his t-shirt and Jesus piece. Dave recently went on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and talked about how his first encounter with Kanye West was on the day Jay Z’s The Black Album dropped. That chance meeting led to Kanye ending a phone call with, “Because my life is dope and I do dope shit!” (Sidenote: It’s great hearing the old school Kanye production on this. Kanye West plus Common always equals good feels.)
