Billboard Breakdown – March 30
by Karen
1. Chris Brown – F.A.M.E. – 270,000 – As a person who has long wanted to see the guy leave his past in the past, these numbers are great. Perhaps we all need to take a chair through an office window to get our point across and land a promotion. Sidenote: that track he has with Ludacris (“Wet The Bed”) is quite crazy, if that’s the proper description.
2. Jennifer Hudson – I Remember Me – 165,000 – I still haven’t heard this album, but there have been quite a few people buzzing about it. It must be all right if it did those numbers the first week.
3. Adele – 21 – 96,000 – Her voice is beautiful. And I still have to pick this album up.
9. Bobby V – Fly On The Wall – 38,000 – I’ve already spoke on how the song “Words” is one of the better R&B singles in a minute. Sooner or later, I’m going check out the album.
10. Lupe Fiasco – Lasers – 29,000 – For as disappointing as the album may have been, “The Show Goes On” was a good song. That’s probably because I hear it on ESPN every other hour though.
18. Gucci Mane – The Return Of Mr. Zone 6 – 25,000 – From the leaks alone, I knew this would be better than The Appeal.
50. Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy – 10,000 – Platinum and moving on. I wonder if we’ll see another solo album this year from ‘Ye. And what’s the word on Watch The Throne?
54. Pharoahe Monch – W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) – 9,600 – Duck Down Records has some talent. Will they ever crack the top 10 on the Billboard? Probably not. But there is some talent there. Check out David Dallas.
