What differences do you find in yourselves from when you first came out in 2011 to now?

Princeton: I think the biggest difference would be in age. Growing up in age, a lot has changed. We’ve experienced more, we’ve traveled the world a little bit more, we have a lot more to laugh about. Growing up, in general, and finishing school, we gotten a lot more time to express that in our music. The fans that we’ve had since we were 14 are 20-years-old now and can kind of relate to what we’re going through.

For newer members, EJ and Mike, what was it like adjusting your lifestyles to the Mindless Behavior name?

EJ: We’ve transitioned definitely with the workload. They work really hard. They’re very focused and that’s the mindset you have to be in. It’s the Mindless brand, so we had to adjust to that. We’re at rehearsal all day and all night, but it’s really good. I think we adjusted well.

Mike: The biggest thing, for me, was the mindset of not that many people knowing who you are to almost everybody knowing. You go places and you’re getting noticed. The biggest change is that you’re always on.

What were your guys’ first thoughts when your album #OfficialMBMusic ranked #3 on Billboard’s R&B charts?

M: First thing going through my mind was that we had a lot of doubters and a lot of hate. So the first thing I thought of was ‘Okay. We did it.’ We have a lot of work to do and we’re nowhere near where we want to be, but it was just an ‘Okay, we’ve been working so hard and dealing with a lot of hating.’ So it was to show that this is just the beginning of us shutting people up.

E: I’m kinda on the same page. I was really happy from when it dropped and it’s out there and to have it as number one on the charts on iTunes for like an hour, that was like “Wow.” I was just ready for the next step and keep it moving.

What was the reason behind making each track a hashtag?

P: We wanted it to be relevant with our fans. We live in an era where we live by hashtags, to be honest. But we wanted it to be where people were hashtagging our album without thinking about it, so because of the title, it was like the number one trending topic or number two trending topic. A lot of people were still branding it with the old Mindless Behavior brand, so by making it “OfficialMBMusic” people started asking about the new Mindless Behavior, and that’s what we want.
