The 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards is underway in Atlanta, but back in NYC, reports surfaced the net that 22-year-old Damon Dash Jr, song of Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon Dash, was arrested on Tuesday night (Sept. 24) for allegedly strangling his girlfriend.

According to the New York Post, a source reported that Dash’s girlfriend Chelsea was visiting him at his apartment when he got violent towards her. He began “to punch her, slap her and shove her onto the bed, got on top of her, he grabs her by the throat and chokes her,” the source says.

It’s also reported that both parties briefly reconciled before another fight broke out, at which point, a witness called the law enforcement. “Dash climbed on top of her and “placed both of [his] hands around [her] neck and squeezed tightly.” The sourced added that “he did get physically violent with her, she suffered bruises, a black eye and a cut lip.”

Dash was released on bail after his arraignment on Wednesday (Sept. 25) and ordered to signed a protection prohibiting him from any contact with his alleged victim.
