Just when it looks like Chris Brown is hitting a stride toward positivity, things fall apart. The AP reports regarding the plea deal to assist Breezy in avoiding jail in his Washington D.C. assault case fell apart on Wednesday. The talks dissolved after attorneys could not come to an agreement on what Brown would acknowledge occurred in the incident.
Attorney for Brown, Mark Geragos, stated the defense lawyers and prosecutors were not able to come to terms on what occurred that night outside the W hotel in D.C.
“They wanted him to read from a script that wasn’t true,” Geragos said. “If they want a trial, that’s what they’ll get.
Prosecutor Kevin Chambers stated that Brown rejected a deal to plead guilty to a misdemeanor assault and receive a sentence of time served. When questioned about the disagreed deal, Geragos did not provide information.
This case stems from an arrest back in October when Chris Brown was charged with misdemeanor assault after a man stated the “Loyal” singer hit him while taking a picture with women outside of the D.C. hotel.
The trial for Chris Brown has been set to occur on September 8 and last a total of a day and a half.
