Nicki Minaj is taking it all back to her roots. Not only with her music, but with her look as well. In this interview with MTV, Minaj talks about how she aimed to gradually transition from her past full of colored wigs and flashy outfits to a more natural look, and she feels that it went well. The YMCMB queen also talks about how for her next album, The Pink Print, she’s heading back to her hip-hop roots, which can already be seen in tracks like “Lookin Ass” and “Chi-raq.”

“I went so far to the other side that there’s only one place to go from there,” Minaj said. “You can either continue doing costumes or you can just say, ‘Hey guess what? This will shock them even more. Doing nothing will shock them even more.'”
