Legal action is still being taken months after a January altercation where Chris Brown threatened Frank Ocean and allegedly threw gay slurs at him. Although Ocean moved on and forgave Brown, Ocean’s cousin, Sha’Keir Duarte, claims that Brown’s body guard attacked the him on Brown’s command. Chris Brown has now chosen to countersue.

According to SPIN, Brown is now saying that Duarte threatened to kill the singer “without provocation” before making “gestures with his hands and fists to signal that he was ready to strike Mr. Brown in the face and on the body.” The cross-complaint accuses Duarte of “outrageous and despicable” conduct “part of a calculated effort … to provoke a confrontation” so that he could “demand a cash payout.” –Keith Reid-Cleveland
