Missy Elliott Lands Three Top 10 Singles On iTunes Charts Following Super Bowl Guest Performance
by Staff Editor
Last night, hip-hop fans everywhere rejoiced, as Katy Perry gave Missy Elliott a piece of her set during her halftime performance during the Super Bowl.
After doing a three-song set to “Get Ur Freak On,” “Work It,” and “Lose Control,” social media was buzzing with nostalgia over the female MC’s epic comeback, which led many to take to their music playlists. Despite not releasing any new music, fans went and purchased all three Missy songs on iTunes, landing them in the Top 10 chart on the music network. Even her past album Miss E…So Addictive, landed at number 38th on the albums chart, along with Under Construction at the 58th spot, The Cookbook at 77, and Supa Dupa Fly at no. 118.
Missy was so excited about the news, that she tweeted her reaction to everyone buzzing about her performance:

In other Missy news, it looks like she will be dropping some new music before we know it, as MissInfo reports that there is a Diplo/Skillex collaboration remix on the way called “Take U There” which features Missy on it. The site reports, “We heard an unreleased remix from Diplo and Skrillex (aka Jack U) of their massive pop/dance hit “Take U There” but this one featured two incredible verses from our girl Missy Elliott, not just spittin’ in high heeheeheeheehaw form, but also giving up a little buttery “Hot Boys” melody too.”
Missy season is just starting, and we can’t wait to see what’s to come next.
