There seems to be a war going on between the hip-hop community and Iggy Azalea, but there are some on her side.
After getting into a spat with Azealia Banks addressing racial issues in hip-hop on Twitter, Q-Tip took to his own account to send a series of tweets to the “Fancy” rapper about the origins of hip-hop, and how race has been a huge factor.
While some are criticizing her, and others are trying to school her, Will.I.Am, on the other hand, is supporting her, and just sent out some tweets thanking her for her contribution to hip-hop.
He tweeted:
.@IGGYAZALEA hiphop Is global now…it doesn’t matter if your white or black…thanks for contributing & spreading our culture positively.

.@IGGYAZALEA is saddens me that people are making a big deal about race in hiphop & not ethics…today’s ethics goes against our foundation

.@IGGYAZALEA In 1980 a white girl from punk rock group @blondieOFFICIAL helped #hiphop expand beyond the hood with a song called #rapture

.@IGGYAZALEA at the end of the day who cares what people think…do what you love…stay #fancy…#congrats
