6 Predictions For The Rest Of The ‘Yeezus’ Tour
by Staff Editor
Opening night of Kanye West’s Yeezus tour included Jesus (and his disciples), more Maison Martin Margiela masks, confederate flag t-shirts and some down time (reportedly Yeezy takes creative naps between songs). Then, night two of the was postponed until Halloween. If the first two nights were any sign of what’s to come, there will be plenty of newsworthy moments surrounding the Mr. West and his opener, Kendrick Lamar. Here are five things that will most likely happen throughout the course of Kanye’s musical trek around the world.
1. Kanye Goes On A Rant
This may be the most likely of anything else on the list. Kanye West, notorious for his anti-celebrity monologues, will take the time out during one of his sets to launch into one-sided conversation with the crowd. Who knows what the topic could be, but with a range of options running from paparazzi to his love Kim Kardashian, we’re sure Ye’ will have something to say eventually. Of course, he’ll have to pencil it in some time between yelling at Jesus and sleeping.
2. Kendrick Lamar Steals More Headlines
Speaking of Kendrick Lamar, the young star gives a great live show, adding to the experience with a live band. It wouldn’t be surprising for Kendrick to steal a few headlines along the course of the tour. Not sure how well that would sit with the tour’s headliner however.
3. A Tribe Called Quest Will Perform With Kanye
If there is any component to the show that could bring out a little more of the old Kanye, it’ll be the two NYC shows where A Tribe Called Quest will share the stage Chi-town MC. Q-Tip announced these shows as the legendary group’s last together, so expect some never-before-seen moments between the headliner and ATCQ.
4. Another Show Will Be Postponed
With a hectic schedule and a complicated stage setup (courtesy of DONDA), don’t be surprised if there happens to be another push back on Kanye’s tour. Hopefully the announcement will come more than a few hours prior, unlike his stop in Vancouver.
5. North West Will Attend A Show
Whether it be in L.A. or some other stop along the way, you can anticipate Ms. Kardashian to show up in support of her love with North West in tow. Although just a few months old, Nori will probably be spotted backstage. If fans get lucky, Kanye could even show off his first born on stage. But however she appears (keep your eyes locked to Instagram), it has the makings of taking a special performance even higher.
6. Religious Groups Will Protest
Yeezus is using a Jesus skit, for God’s sake. Some religious sect along the way is bound to (no pun intended) get upset.
Lol nooo don’t jinx it I can’t deal with a post poned show
