Back in the mid-2000’s B5 was the hottest boy band out. The four brothers and their cousin, Carnell saw a decent amount of success under Diddy’s Bad Boy Records after releasing two albums and working with top producers such as Rodney Jerkins, Ryan Leslie, Sean Garrett and more. However, according to one brother, Bryan Breeding, the group never received any money from either album.

Bryan recently took to Instagram to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of the groups debut album. Bryan mentioned in great detail how shady the music industry is and about the “snakes” who kept the group from receiving payment for their albums.

“We made about 99.9% of all our income from live performances & merchandise and till this day I’ve never seen a PENNY from any of our B5 commercial albums,” he wrote. “For years! We reach out to lawyers, advisors and even TV networks for a chance to help us or tell our story and no one ever touched it with a 10 foot pole.”

Bryan further states to upcoming artist to use his experience as a way to be cautious when entering into the business of music. “READ your contracts and create new sounds for the LOVE of music, as a expression of who YOU ARE! You don’t need to compromise for the bag or the glamorized ‘Record Label Deal’ we have enough artist like that and doing a great job at it,” he concludes.

Additionally, Patrick Breeding, the lead singer of B5 commented on Bryan’s post to add in that Disney never paid their group member Kelly Breeding for his work on a song featured on the High School Musical soundtrack.

“Oh we’re going there today?” Patrick commented. “In that case Disney needs to run @gowiththeflow88 (Kelly) his check for writing the rap on #HighSchoolMusical #GetYourHeadInTheGame. He was 14 and they stole that check from him. And that’s just the tip.” View full post below:

The question remaining is, will Diddy’s label and Disney do what’s right and pay these men for their work? Stay posted with us to find out.
