Shortly after word began to spread that Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj had a collab on the way, the rap stars confirmed the exciting news with the delivery of the official remix to Doja’s popular record “Say So.” While the original version of “Say So” was featured on Doja’s sophomore album “Hot Pink” in 2019, the record is steadily picking up on the charts today as the all-new remix has generated a great amount of buzz on socials since its release. Although a technical issue caused an older version of the duo’s remix to drop at midnight, Minaj and her team soon provided the updated version of the remix shortly after announcing the error on social media.
Many fans of the femcee’s were excited to hear a new verse from Minaj on “Say So” and began to speculate over a line towards the end of Nicki’s verse; “Why you talkin’ ’bout who body fake?/ With all them fillers in your face, you just full of hate.” In response to fans’ curiosity regarding the line, Minaj posted to her Instagram story stating, “The line ain’t about Wendy tho,” referring to talk show host Wendy Williams and the feud that has brewed between the two.
The original version of Doja’s “Say So” has already peaked at no. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is due in-part to the viral success of the single on Tik-Tok . Minaj has also hit the charts in 2020 with the highly anticipated release of her single “Yikes” and her collaboration with Meghan Trainor on “Nice To Meet Ya.”
