A while ago, we heard about Megan Thee Stallion applying to trademark “Hot Girl Summer,” a phrase and lifestyle that she coined for her fans to live by. Well, it seems as of her work is paying off!
Trademarking is something usually done by businesses to protect a new idea or product and it is fairly unusual to see a celebrity trying to trademark an expression. However, it does make sense since phrases like “Hot Girl Summer” can become popular slogans for products like tee-shirts. Fashion companies could profit from selling clothing with Megan Thee Stallion’s phrase printed on them, even though she came up with the idea. If this was the case, now that she has trademarked the phrase, an Ip Theft Investigation could be conducted and the singer could receive legal compensation.
As of today, Megan The Stallion can start capitalizing off of her phrase “Hot Girl Summer,” according to The Neighborhood Talk page. The raptress mentions how her trademark request was approved on 103 Jamz. Check out the interview below!
