Cassidy Arrested As Suspect In Murder Case
by Karen
This is crazy. The other day I was speaking with a friend of mine about how ill the Lloyd Banks Vs. Cassidy mixtapes once were. You know, back when mixtapes had long shelf lives than they do now. Cass was that dude during the early 2000’s for his freestyles, tapes and the now infamous battle with Freeway. Albums? Not so much, although he had his fair share of hits (“Can I Talk To You” wasn’t a smash, but it was my sh*t though). Now, years removed from his glory days in Hip Hop, Barry Reese finds himself in serious trouble with the law once again.
Philly rapper Cassidy (Barry Reese) was arrested in Hackensack, New Jersey yesterday afternoon after authorities were informed by the Philadelphia police department that Reese had an open warrant for violating probation. Reese was also a suspect in a murder and two attempted murder cases which took place in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia police had reason to believe that Reese was now living in New Jersey.
Life has an odd way of coming full circle. As you probably remember, Cass was released from prison in 2006 after serving eight months for involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Desmond Hawkins.
