Although he was recently denied bond after being charged with first-degree murder on two counts, YNW Melly, born Jamell Demons, just hit the number one spot on Apple Music for his track “Murder on My Mind.” Many speculate that the song’s lyrics provide listener’s details on the tragic case between Demons, his accomplice Cortlen Henry, and the victims of the murder case, who were actual friends of Demons and Henry. It was later discovered that “Murder on My Mind” was released before the double homicide occurred.

Demons was charged this past week in regards to the murder of his friends Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr according to the Sun-Sentinel. Prior to being arrested, Demons popularity as an artist began to skyrocket with new music featuring Kanye West and a tour with Asian Doll being announced within the first couple months of 2019. Demons left one final message for fans via Instagram, stating “To all my fans and supporters no I did not get locked up in Washington, but I am turning myself in today I want you guys to know I love you and appreciate every single one of y’all.” More details on the case should arrive soon as the case is currently being handled.
