The singer was detained on Monday (Jan 21) on suspicion of aggravated rape and a drug offence. Although he is free, the prosecutor’s office said an investigation was continuing. However, Brown’s lawyer Raphael Chiche said his client “energetically” proclaimed that he is innocent and wanted to file a defamation lawsuit.
The 24-year-old alleged victim told police she met Brown in a nightclub on Jan. 15 near the Avenue des Champs-Élysées with a group of other women. She then agreed to go back to the hotel, which is on the boutique-lined Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore. The victim also alleged that later that night, she found herself alone in a room with Brown and his bodyguard, and says that they both raped her.
Since Breezy’s release, he’s been publicly claiming his innocence on social media, stating that the woman who alleged the assault was lying and that commiting such an act goes “against his character and morals.”
