New York, Lower East Side rapper Tru Life recently announced Walking On Water. This project will be his first in 11 years after his rap career was cut short by an 8 year jail sentence.
Tru Life was considered a cult hero in NYC rap circles, signing to Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope as a teenager and was later led by Jay Z to sign with Roc-A-Fella.
Today, Tru shares the video for “When I Want,” from his upcoming project. The track tcelebrates his joy of freedom to do what he wants, when he wants after being incarcerated.
In the video, Tru takes his lady on a date and spins a clever series of boastful rhymes while keeping things lighthearted when he says, “Never joined a gang, bitch I rep that LES, yeah/Ate the p****y in my bulletproof vest.”
