Grammy-winning rapper T.I. ends his boycott against Houston’s, a local steakhouse restaurant in Atlanta (owned by Hillstone Restaurant Group). The boycott started last October, after actress Ernestine Johnson tweeted about racial discrimination at the Lenox Road location. In an Instagram post, T.I. posted a flyer in protest saying, “#Boycott Houston’s Restaurant,” “#ShutItDown,” “USorElse.”

According to the Atlanta Eater, Hillstone took to Facebook and said discussions with T.I. and Johnson were “productive and prompting Hillstone to evaluate potential issues.”

The restaurant is currently in question of closing on March 31, but they seem to have found a solution with T.I. He took to his Twitter saying, “Very Thankful for everyone’s support on this matter. Because of you all, & the Hillstone Group’s passion for progress we were able to make a difference. I’m happy to say… We may now enjoy the spinach dip again!!!!”

TMZ reports that T.I. and Ernestine have pledged to stay on for diversity training to fulfill what he says can meet the needs of the community. He says, “we have to respect the differences of one another’s cultures and we have to learn the differences to respect them.” With T.I. as an example, we hope to see more rappers collaborate with companies who struggle with diversity.
