When it comes to notable figures in the music industry, Jermaine Dupri is one of the highest-esteemed officials all-around. The record executive, producer, and rapper has worked with everyone in some manner; from producing records, nurturing raw talent, and crafting hit songs that top the charts. He’s worked with Mariah Carey, Usher, Xscape, Janet Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Ludacris, Bow Wow, and Jay-Z. In addition to these household names, there are many more people that have had their careers elevated by his contributions to their creativity.

His hard work for over 25 years in the music industry has been recognized time and time again, but perhaps being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame Class for 2018 will be the most important, prestigious accolade of all.

The Songwriters Hall revealed to the Associated Press that Dupri along with John Mellencamp, Kool & the Gang, and Alan Jackson will be inducted in a ceremony on June 14. Dupri’s inclusion in the esteemed group of legendary acts follows Jay-Z’s induction last year. Now, Dupri is truly in elite company.
