Update: The First Round of Performers For The 59th GRAMMYs Has Been Announced

UPDATE 5: In just five days, the 59th GRAMMYs will take place and the list of performers thus far are incredible. The Recording Academy announced today that they are planning two different tributes for iconic legends Prince and George Michael, who tragically passed away in 2016. Here’s a quote from The Academy:

“George Michael and Prince were pop icons who showcased rare musical genius and otherworldly charisma,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy. “While each possessed a distinct style and sound, they were both adored by audiences worldwide. The passings of two such creative innovators were a huge loss for the creative community; The Recording Academy is humbled to pay homage to their tremendous legacies on the GRAMMY stage.”

Further details on the tributes haven’t been revealed, but we expect them to be groundbreaking. Stay tuned for more updates!

UPDATE 4: There’s even more to be excited about for music’s biggest night. Making his debut on the GRAMMYs stage, Chance The Rapper will be bringing his great energy and music to the stage. Also being added to the mix is Grammy winner, Gary Clark Jr., William Bell, Sturgill Simpson, and Little Big Town! Shaping up to be a jaw-dropping night, keep it locked in as we will continue to keep you updated.

UPDATE 3: Before the big show in a couple weeks, the Recording Academy has announced more performers for this year’s GRAMMYs. They include The Weeknd alongside Daft Punk; Anderson .Paak alongside A Tribe Called Quest and Dave Grohl; and Alicia Keys who will be joined by Best New Artist nominee Marren Morris. There might be more announcements coming, so stay peeled to KC.com for more updates.

UPDATE 2: With the GRAMMYs just a few weeks away, more performers have been announced for this year’s show. It was just revealed that Bruno Mars will be hitting the stage! The four-time GRAMMY winner is currently nominated for this year’s show as well. Stay tuned for more announcements!

UPDATE: Adele will belt it out on the Grammys stage. According to an announcement from CBS, the singer will perform a song from her latest album 25, marking her fourth time playing the awards show.

ORIGINAL: In just under a month, on February 12th, the 59th annual GRAMMYs will be taking place once again at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.

With the nominees announced last month, today the Recording Academy announces the first round of performers at this year’s show.

Starting off in a strong way, the confirmed acts thus far include John Legend, Metallica and a duet performance with Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. Fun fact: these four acts have won a combined 29 GRAMMYs in their careers.

Expect a slew of other performers to be revealed sooner than later, and be sure to tune into this year’s show on February 12th at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS.
