Last year, the legendary Missy Elliott made an incredible comeback at Super Bowl XLIX, where she performed many of her smash hits during Katy Perry’s Super Bowl halftime set. As a result, Missy saw a 2500% sales increase for her previously released records, a slew of new fans and gave hip-hop a reason to include her in 2015’s activities.

Well, this past weekend, Missy E. rocked the 2015 Essence Music Festival stage in New Orleans and gave us a show we’ll never forget. Just like Missy does.

The “One Minute Man” rapper crooned her fans with many of her hits from the late 90s to the early 2000s. The show was so live during Missy’s performance that she was actually cut off mid-song about an hour into her set, due to an unruly crowd enjoying the nostalgic sounds of Misdemeanor Elliot. Now that’s how you shut down a show — literally.

Solange Knowles also took the time to honor Missy with a special tribute during the show, causing the ever so humble Missy to thank her via Twitter:
