Birthday wishes are in order as our favorite ‘good kid’ Kendrick Lamar has turned 28 years old! The TDE general has had quite the career thus far and the last two or three years in particular have catapulted K. Dot to superstardom.

The Compton native released his debut, and now platinum, album good kid m.A.A.d city in October of 2012 and he’s been considered a top emcee in the game ever since. Following his debut album going platinum, Kendrick began to receive several different accolades through awards, festival appearances, etc. One of the many defining moments of his career came in 2013 when he dropped his infamous “Control” verse, calling out damn near the entire industry. It was a special moment for hip-hop and Kendrick gets the thanks.
