Known for gritty street lyrics and an icy flow, rapper Icewear Vezzo emerged in the 2010s as a leading figure in the Detroit hip-hop scene.

Vezzo has deep connections in the Midwest, specifically Minnesota, where some of his close relatives and siblings formed the rap group Green Guyz. Vezzo ran his own Detroit-based version of Green Guyz with the blessing of the original crew. After gaining buzz in his city, the rapper decided to create his own lane and for the past two decades, he’s delivered several mixtapes and full-length albums.

Fast forward to the last few years, Vezzo has teamed up with Babyface Ray for “Champions,” Megan Thee Stallion, Big Sean and many more. Vezzo rode the success well into 2022 with his album, Rich Off Pints.

We recently hung out with Icewear Vezzo for our latest episode of “Welcome To My Neighborhood” on #CivilTV. In this episode, he took around his hometown, talked about the lessons he’s learned growing up in Detroit, his music career, and what he wants his legacy to be.
