Both Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams have teamed up to deliver their all-new track titled “Entrepreneur,” which boldly addresses the systematic inequalities against the Black community. Produced by himself and Chad Hugo, Pharrell announced the release of “Entrepreneur” on Thursday via Instagram and has helped to build much anticipation for the release since first posting. On the new track, Jay-Z even goes on to reportedly reference CEO Jack Dorsey in his verse, as he raps, “Black Twitter, what’s that? When Jack gets paid, do you?”

In addition to delivering new music, Pharrell also took to the cover of Time’s latest issue titled “The New American Revolution.” In the recent interview, Williams explains the intention and meaning behind the track in detail, as he says, “The intention for a song was all about how tough it is to be an entrepreneur in our country to begin with.” Pharrell continues on, “Especially as someone of color, there’s a lot of systemic disadvantages and purposeful blockages. How can you get a fire started, or even the hope of an ember to start a fire, when you’re starting at disadvantages with regards to health care, education and representation?” With the release of their new collaboration now available, Jay-Z and Pharrell are clearly continuing to take a strong and active stand against the system during a time of increased racial inequality.
