Usher Shares Powerful BLM-Inspired Song ‘I Cry’: LISTEN

Usher just released a powerful new song called, “I Cry,” that acknowledges the many Black Lives Matter protests that are happening nationwide.
“I cry for the sons without fathers/And the pain that their mothers/Hold deep inside/So I’ll fight/For the future we’re making/It’ll change if we face it/’Cause these tears won’t dry,” he sings over a piano-led beat. Listen here:
In addition to sharing a heartfelt song, Usher also gave insight on what further inspired him to realize this song. In a statement on Twitter, the singer says that he wrote the song because he wanted to teach his sons that it’s okay for a man to “feel emotions deeply and to cry.” Check out the full statement below:
