In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, rap star Pusha T is set to host the “FEED YOUR CITY CHALLENGE” in his hometown of Norfolk, VA. Former NBA star Ricky Davis and The Ricky Davis Legacy Foundation have joined forces with Pusha T along with music industry legend Tony Draper. The event will take place at Military Circle Mall and work in collaboration with Norfolk’s Mayor Kenny Alexander, Chief of Police Larry D. Boone and the Economic Development Authority for the City of Norfolk.

Following CDC guidelines, the event will distribute fresh groceries and essential PPE supplies to up to 3,000 community members. In addition to providing groceries and supplies, the organization also prepares hot meals for the community.

Pusha T’s announcement comes shortly after his retort to the tragic murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police. After noticing TRDLF’s impact upon Houston, Pusha and his team felt similar efforts were necessary in his native as well. Norfolk will serve as the first stop on TRDLF’s journey across the country as the organization aims to help those most in need, such as first responders, school children, and the homeless.
