The Game’s Record Label & “Born 2 Rap” Royalties Turned Over to Priscilla Rainey

Due to a $7 million judgement owed to Priscilla Rainey, The Game has lost control of his independent record label, LA Prolific. According to All Hip Hop, “any and all rights, title, and interest” in label revenues including money, property, and future payments will be turned over to Rainey’s control. The Game was ordered to pay Rainey $7 million in October of 2019 by an appeals court.
In regards to the case, the order states, “All third parties who receive notice of this Order are directed to pay any and all money or property due, or to become due, under this Order, directly to Plaintiff either: (1) by check payable to “Priscilla Rainey,” and delivered to Plaintiff’s counsel” until the judgment is satisfied in full.”
The Game’s record label was set to release his final album “Born 2 Rap,” which is now owned by Rainey as she will receive any royalties generated from the project. The situation may evolve into a criminal case as Judge Virginia A. Phillips says Game will be charged with contempt of court if he attempts to collect any money or prevent the ruling.
Rainey’s suit against Game comes after the rapper allegedly rubbed his hand on her vagina while filming his reality show “She Got Game” in 2015. Rainey was awarded $7,130,100 in February of the following year. Although Game denied the rumors, he missed court dates and wound up skipping out on the trial.
