NAACP announced Tuesday (Feb. 4) that Rihanna will be receiving the President’s Award during the 51st NAACP Image Awards this month.

The NAACP said they selected the 31-year-old star and fashion icon for her “groundbreaking career as an artist and musician,” and for being a person who has “distinguished herself as a stellar public servant.”

NAACP president Derrick Johnson said Rihanna “epitomizes the type of character, grace and devotion to justice” that the organization seeks to highlight.

Previous recipients of this major honor include Jay-Z, Muhammad Ali, Jesse Jackson and Condoleezza Rice.

Rihanna will be given the award at the Ceremony on Feb. 22. The award show will be televised for the first time on BET, airing from Pasadena, California.
