It’s about time! The Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul, Mary J Blidge will be releasing a documentary about her life with Entertainment One and Amazon Studios. The Hip Hop Mogul, Sean Combs and Mary are set to executive produce the film, which will give us an inside look of the Grammy-winning and Oscar nominee legend’s story.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Matt Newman, Co-Head of film at Amazon Studios shared some words of his admiration of the queen.

“We all know Mary J. Blige as the two-time Oscar nominee, Grammy Award winning, multi-hyphenate who has sold over 80 million records. But through this documentary, audiences will see a raw and honest side of Mary J. Blige opening up about her personal journey of redemption and healing,”

Directed by Vanessa Roth, the documentary will shed light on Blige’s journey in music and TV along with past struggles of heartbreak, abuse, and addiction. Following her 25th anniversary of the classic album, My Life, this documentary is exciting news to her fans.
