Charlamagne Interviews the Cast of Throwback Sitcom, Girlfriends
by Staff Editor

If you are familiar with Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club, then you already know Charlamagne Tha God is a huge fan of the iconic show, Girlfriends. Just about every Black woman in the world favors the trailblazing show as it was the perfect representation for the ambitious African-American woman. The cast of Girlfriends: Joan, Maya, Toni, and Lynn was a perfect blend of different personalities, styles, and professions.

Today, Charlamagne got the chance to interview Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White, and Jill Marie Jones as they return on set for this week’s reunion episode for ABC’s Black-Ish. They discussed character analysis, what it was like to be reunited, and even revealed the real reason why Jill Marie left the show.
The comedy-drama sitcom was created by Mara Brock Akil, who is genius at storytelling and film-making. When asked if there will ever be a movie, Mara claimed that she would, but under one circumstance: bigger budget. In other words, the sitcom would deserve a film as successful as Sex In The City.
The much-deserved reunion on Blackish premiered on Tuesday, October 8th and we are just as excited as they were in this video:
Let us all pray for a Girlfriends reboot!
