Time after time, Chance The Rapper has proven to us that he is more than a rapper and more so the voice of the people. He is one of the few Hip-Hop artists that was able to transform their independent music career into higher levels in the industry. In fact, his 2016 mixtape, Coloring Book became the first streaming-only album to win a Grammy Award.
Along with his successful rap career, Chance’s humanitarianism is authentic, as it promotes effective change towards the progression of African Americans. In late August, during an interview with The Breakfast Club, he shared his thoughts on significant events surrounding the Black culture including police brutality, NFL, mental health, and more.
Just like his lyrics, Chance is not one to shy away from the truth. Watch the interview below:
When interviewed by Envy, Angela & Charlamagne, Chance also revealed some personal stories like quitting cigarettes and his love life. In addition, the interview touched base on his relationship with God, the women he respects in the music industry, and having his second child.
