What an epic week it has been for Lizzo. Before slaying the stage at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards Monday night, Lizzo finds out that her breakout hit “Truth Hurts” has reigned to no. 1 on two Billboard charts. “Truth Hurts” is now in the lead on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs chart.
As an entertainer, singer, and rapper, the artist rocked the stage at the 2019 VMA’s for her first time this week, featuring her no. 1 song “Truth Hurts” from her latest Cuz I Love You album.
Knocking down previous Lil Nas X single “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, the well-rounded sound and duo slide to no. 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs chart after spending 20 weeks on top, the longest stay since the chart began in 1958.
Lizzo continues to exceed on the Billboard Hot 100 as well, with “Truth Hurts” climbing to no. 3 on the latest chart.
