Looking back upon Carey’s history, it is to no surprise that the superstar will receive the prestigious award.

Since Carey’s 1990 debut, she has been landing on the Billboard charts with multiple hit pop records; Carey’s music hit the charts every year in the 90’s, which made her the only artist to accomplish this feature in any decade.
