In the latest issue of Billboard magazine, 21 Savage opens up about his recent ICE detainment. The U.K.-born, U.S.-bred rapper whose real name is She’yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was detained on Super Bowl Sunday, hours before the game in Atlanta.
In the cover story, 21 speaks on his detainment and the conditions while in ICE custody saying it was unlike anything he has experienced. “Whenever I went to jail before, it was, ‘You’re being charged with this and going to court on this date.’ But immigration ain’t like that. You’re just being held.”
The “a lot” rapper also reveals that he has tons of unreleased music set for the future, having at least 2 albums worth of music ready. Throughout the story, 21’s lawyers, his manager Kei Henderson, and Justin “Meezy” Williams are also featured. Read the full article here.
