In anticipation of this year’s show, the lineup for Woodstock 50 is starting to reveal itself. Featuring a mixture of hip-hop and rock stars, Woodstock 50 will kick off in Watkins Glen, NY beginning Aug. 16, 2019. Rumors have surfaced of hip-hop icon Jay-Z and Grammy-winning artist Chance the Rapper headlining this year’s festival. Alongside the popular musicians, Dead & Co. and Black Keys are also rumored to headline the show. The Raconteurs, Imagine Dragons, Run the Jewels, and The Lumineers are reported to perform in the music festival in addition to many other artists. According to Variety, Miley Cyrus and Janelle Monae are just two of a few more performers in the process of finalizing their commitments.

Being the center of rumors is normal for a festival with the history that Woodstock has. Festival co-founder Michael Lang said in a statement from March 4, “There’s always been lots of rumors around Woodstock. We have excellent partners and an incredible talent lineup of over 80 artists which will be announced within the next couple of weeks. We’re preparing a once in a lifetime event.”

Performing on a set of stages named the Music Stage, Peace Stage & Love Stage, Woodstock 50 will go on for three days ending Aug. 18, 2019. Two nights of the music festival will be dedicated to the dominance of hip-hop following the festival’s 1969 event 50 years ago.
