Things still aren’t looking good for the media mogul.
Former mega-manager to the stars and estranged husband of Tamar Braxton, Vincent Herbert is back in the news with some rather concerning revelations. Nasty split aside, the former SONY executive may reportedly have to fork over some of his earnings to cover some of his outstanding debts. SONY won a lawsuit against Herbert last year to the tune of $4 Million ($3,738,515.93 to be exact) he was advanced to discover new talent for the label.
Last year, Vince reportedly had a $65,000 Rolls-Royce agreement breeched and is currently under investigation by Manhattan Leasing Enterprises according to documents obtained by The Blast. The company in question has reportedly not received a dime and have some questions of their own. Manhattan specifically wants to know about royalties that Herbert is collecting for his work on the Toni Braxton songs “How Many Ways” and “Please,” multiple tracks by JoJo, Destiny’s Child, Mindless Behavior, Montell Jordan, Bryson Tiller and even music from Gloria Gaynor.
During an episode of Braxton Family Values from 2018, Towanda going through the process of suing Herbert, learns that Vincent in fact was the sole owner of the show’s theme song based on the way it was published.
The company believes Vince is still collecting earnings from these artists and has gone as far as subpeoning the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) to gather additional info about Herbert’s musical royalties and income. A hearing is scheduled to take place this month.
