Cardi B has been known to be an outspoken voice for today’s younger generation. Her recent comments that criticized Trump on his role in the government shutdown have drawn a lot of attention and now Democrats in Iowa want her to speak at an upcoming Democratic reception, according XXL.

On Wednesday (Jan. 30), the Des Moines Register reported that Iowa Democrats invited Cardi B to speak at “a reception of her choice” sometime in May when her Invasion of Privacy Tour comes to their town.

“We are definitely serious about this,” said Polk County Democrats chair Sean Bagniewski. “She speaks to the new activism in the Democratic Party,” they posted from their official Twitter account.

As of right now, Polk County Democrats are trying to reach out to Cardi’s team and see if she’s willing to speak to their young Democratic base, and have also extended an invitation to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Texas legislative candidate Beto O’Rourke to hold events in Des Moines, according to XXL.
