DMX was recently released from prison Friday (Jan. 25), and just like that, he’s back to work like he never left. The rap-veteran performed for the first time in his home state at the Mr. Ciao Nightclub in Staten Island on Saturday Night (Jan. 26).
“DMX you saved the day. Thank you to all that came to party,” the club’s Instagram page wrote in a post. Footage from his show included him performing classic hits such as “Party Up,” “Where The Hood At?” and “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem.”
Swizz Beatz also let fans in on his phone call conversation with DMX Sunday evening (Jan. 27), saying that the rapper is ready to make and release some new music.
“I just got off the phone with my brother DMX! He told me this time he didn’t work out his body in jail he said he worked out his mind! He also said he’s about to make music for the people that need his truth and pain,” Swizz wrote.
In other news, Rolling Loud also announced on Monday (Jan. 28) that DMX is slated to perform on the final day (May 12) of their Miami festival this year.
