After gathering some of his closest friends for his upcoming Dreamville collaborative album, Revenge of the Dreamers III, J. Cole unleashes his highly anticipated lead new single.

Leading up to the release of “Middle a child”, Cole took to Twitter to post famous middle children, which including Britney Spears, Martha Stewart, Michael Jordan, Jennifer Lopez, and even Lisa Simpson.

‘Middle Child’ enlists longtime collaborator T-Minus for production and plays off the idea of the struggle being in between generations in the game. The Dreamville boss shouts out a number of rappers on the record, including Drake, Kodak Black, JAY-Z, and 21 Savage, and declares he’s the “greatest right now: “To the OGs, I’m thanking you now, was watching you when you was paving the ground I copied yo cadence, I mirrored yo style I studied the greats, I’m the greatest right now”. ‘Middle Child’ stands as Cole’s first official lead single release since 2013. He has historically opted to release his albums in full,  2014 Forest Hills Drive, 4 Your Eyez Only, and KOD.
